Unincorporated Adams County

Adams County is located in the northeast quadrant of the Denver metro area. The 1,182-square-mile county is poised for explosive growth, in part because it benefits directly from three of the four billion-dollar projects in Colorado: the E-470 toll road, the Fitzsimons development project and development around Denver International Airport (DIA). With a population of 447,760 (2010), the county has a significant and diverse business and industry base throughout its nine incorporated cities and is home to 34 major business parks, ranging from 100 to 6,300 acres in size.

Adams County provides true inter-modal transportation advantages through DIA and Front Range Airports, access to E-470, I-70, I-25, I-36, I-270, I-225 and I-76, highways 2, 7 and 85, as well as main route rail service provided by the Union Pacific Railroad and Burlington Northern and Santa Fe.

Given the current rate of expansion, amount of space available for development, and access, both within the region and throughout the nation, the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) predicts Adams County to be the site of record growth and economic opportunity for the metro area for the next twenty years. As such, Adams County will continue its aggressive approach to searching for industries providing higher wages and stable employment opportunities for all citizens of the county.
