2011 Major Business Relocations and Expansions
General Electric/PrimeStar Solar announced in October that it had selected Adams County as the site for the construction of the largest solar facility in the United States. PrimeStar Solar, a manufacturer of high performance thin film photovoltaic (PV) modules, will begin retrofitting the new facility in January 2012. The project will add up to 355 new jobs to the county and $300 million in capital investment, making this the largest project supported by ACED in its 30-year history.
Cooper Lighting purchased space at 18001 Colfax in Aurora. The company will add 314 jobs at the location. The company invested $12 million in the project.
Education Sales and Marketing LLC leased 20,938 SF of office space at 1499 W. 121st Avenue in Westminster.
RK Mechanical purchased 150,000 SF of industrial space at 8221 E. 96th Avenue in Henderson. The company plans to employ up to 200 people at the location. The company invested $10 million in the project.
Oneida Cold Storage is adding 144,000 SF to its existing cold storage warehouse located at 8001 E. 88th Avenue in Commerce City. This brings its existing facility of over 400,000 SF. The company plans to add to 25 new positions as a result of this expansion. This is a $16 million capital investment project.
Precast Concepts purchased a 17,000 SF facility on nine acres of land next to its existing facility in Commerce City for an expansion. The company invested $2.1 million in the project.
Manko Windows purchased a 105,000 SF facility at 17500 E. 22nd Avenue in Aurora. The company assembles and manufacturers commercial window systems, entrance doors, storefront systems and curtain wall systems. This is a $3 million capital investment project.
